Today my heart hangs heavy in my chest and has for the last week. My friend Ron Ziebarth took his own life and has left many of us wandering around in a daze obsessing over how we could have prevented it. Truth is, I don’t think anyone could have. He seemed pretty determined. Knowing that doesn’t make it hurt any less though.

Ron and his brother Don were two sides of the same very popular coin. They completed each other and I think I can safely say Ron was never the same after Don passed away in 1992. Below is a video I put together with help from my friends at Mightybytes for Ron’s memorial service. It uses the same song played at Don’s memorial service. May they both rest in peace. Their departure leaves a large vacuum in the heart and soul of Chicago and an emptiness in my life that won’t soon be filled.
