Day one covered blog software while day two dove deeper into content management systems.

    Topics covered in this workshop included general how-to information on blogging and blog software, as well as a step-by-step breakdown of how to set up, customize and market your own blog using social media and online marketing tools.
  • Web Publishing

    This three-hour session for the Association of Educational Publishers covered the basics of installing and configuring a blog using WordPress. Topics included keywords, content strategy, writing good content, and a discussion of plug-ins for extending WordPress functionality and increasing exposure with a variety of social media tools.
  • Web Writing

    This full day workshop at StoryStudio Chicago walked attendees through the steps of conceiving web projects and writing the content associated with them. It covered the importance of information architecture and the role it plays in keeping content organized and mapping stories to interactivity. It also touched on topics of choosing vendors and working with content management systems or blogging software.

    A comparison of WordPress with other popular open source content management systems. This session was presented at the annual WordPress event in Chicago to an audience of about 100 people.
